South African Climate Action Network

Stanford Mwakasonda is a researcher at the Energy Research Centre, University of Cape Town, South Africa, focusing on energy and climate change. His experience includes working in the areas of energy, environment and climate change. He has worked as a researcher and consultant for both national and international companies and organisations. He was also the Tanzania Focal Point for CAN before he relocated to South Africa and subsequently joined SACAN.

Stanford received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and BSc (Engineering) from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He also has a background of training in the petroleum sector, including petroleum policy and management and gas trading. Prior to joining ERC, he worked as a Senior Researcher and Consultant with the Centre for Energy, Environment, Science and technology (CEEST), Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

Stanford is an individual member of SACAN.
